Jane Thorne

Jane Thorne

Graduating from MIT Auckland with a Bachelor of Visual Arts, Jane Thorne has exhibited both locally and internationally. Insects are the dominant feature in her paintings, and she is influenced by earlier years studying museology and more recently, a fascination with old wallpapers and history. The insects are typically arranged to suggest deeper meanings and details to draw the viewer in.

Peter Le Fevre & Gavin Kew

Peter Le Fevre & Gavin Kew

Peter Le Fevre believes that there are two themes in his art; one is landscape, and the other is the people who encounter the landscape. Peter and Gavin decided to immigrate to NZ from South Africa 18 years ago. Once here, Peter’s desire for learning and a need for a deeper understanding of his new home and Maori culture, led him to obtain a Masters in Portrait. He became an art teacher at Pukekohe High School. Now retired, he and Gavin plan to teach on a more individualised basis, offering art classes to those who wish to explore, expand and further their own art interests.
